Spanish paella with seafood and traditional tapas

Welcome to Austhentico

Authentic Spanish cuisine, top rated and an Austin favorite for a reason.

Crafted with passion by Chef Luis, a Barcelona native!

Spanish paella with seafood and traditional tapas

Chef Luis, a Spanish native grew up in the historic, multicultural, flavor packed streets of El Poble-sec / El Raval in Barcelona.

That’s where he learned that food is about family, noise, heat, flavor, and plates passed across crowded tables.

With years of culinary experience across Barcelona's and Austin's dining scene, he brings both the craft and the soul of Spanish cooking to every plate.

What he’s bringing to Austin is that same at-home feeling: A Sunday afternoon, garlic in the air, wine on the table, recipes that speak for themselves. The kind of place Anthony Bourdain would’ve respected, real, honest Spanish cooking crafted with skill, heart, and memory.

A humble, deeply authentic Spanish family experience, the way it’s meant to be.

Chef Sarai grew up in Coyoacán, Mexico City, a bohemian neighborhood of cobblestone streets, vibrant markets, and a creative spirit that never lets go.

Food there is never just food. It's memory. It's family. It's taking care of people.

She trained at Le Cordon Bleu, earned a business certification from UT Austin, and studied accounting and bookkeeping, because she knows great hospitality runs on both heart and structure. She also built a career leading teams at one of the world's largest tech companies.

In 2019, she and her husband Chef Luis opened Austhentico.

Two stories, two cultures, one kitchen.
